Managing Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Overview

Organizations are increasingly needing to report their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and take action to reduce their carbon footprints. This course focuses on the ISO 14064 series of standards that have been developed specifically to help organizations manage their greenhouse gas emissions:

• ISO 14064-1:2018: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and
  removals
• ISO 14064-2:2019: Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements
• ISO 14064-3:2019: Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements

Training Content

1. The impact of climate change and what organizations and Governments are doing to tackle it
2. The key principles, requirements, terms, and guidelines of ISO 14064 parts 1,2 & 3
3. The importance and benefits of quantifying and reporting GHG emissions in accordance with ISO 14064-1:2018. This includes defining the boundaries of your organization’s GHG emissions to measure, report and manage those emissions
4. How ISO 14064-2:2019 can be used to identify and select GHG sources, sinks and reservoirs (SSR’s), determine baselines, monitor, quantify and report on project emissions
5. The ISO 14064-3:2019 requirements and guidelines for verifying GHG statements related to GHG inventories, GHG projects and the process for verification or validation
